Government of Prince Edward Island: Mental Health Support and Services

About

The Government of Prince Edward Island (Health PEI) page for mental health support and services links Islanders to immediate help, in-person walk-in counselling, crisis in-person response, and longer-term mental health programs.

Coverage

Prince Edward Island (Canada).

Who it’s for

  • People in Prince Edward Island looking for mental health or addictions supports (adults, youth, and family members)
  • Anyone who needs immediate help and wants to be connected to the right service

Contact

Hours

  • Mental Health and Addictions Phone Line: 24/7
  • Mobile Mental Health Response Service (in-person crisis response, accessed via the phone line): 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
  • Open Access Counselling: Varies by clinic (see locations/hours on the Open Access Counselling page)

What to expect when you call or use the services

  • The Mental Health and Addictions Phone Line is answered by trained mental health professionals (a registered nurse or a social worker) and can help assess needs, provide support, and connect you to services.
  • Open Access Counselling is a walk-in option (no appointment or referral required). Sessions are up to 60 minutes and there may be a short wait.
  • If the situation needs more than phone support, the Mobile Mental Health Response Service can provide in-person care during its service hours (accessed through the phone line).
